Position: Business Development Director

Reports to: VP of Sales 

Responsibilities:

  • Sell the full Sustainable Brands product lines (membership, events, digital, and sustainability tools) to major corporate brands
  • Deliver annualized sales of $1.5 - $2.0 MM from assigned Key Accounts, through expanding relationships with multiple divisions, departments, and levels at assigned accounts, especially Marketing, Sustainability, Operations, and Innovation.
  • Using a consultative approach, develop client-focused packages to include the appropriate products, including membership level, additional tickets and licenses, advisory service add-ons, event sponsorships, and digital engagements
  • Use multiple approaches to find additional contacts in Key Accounts, using networking, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and mining the internal database to engage with Global 1000 companies horizontally and vertically, finding the decision makers and crafting custom engagement opportunities
  • Grow revenue both nationally & internationally
  • Actively contribute to SB’s mission and growth opportunities across all business / product suites
  • Seek out opportunities to up-level clients to include additional products from multiple budgets
  • Listen proactively to clients, learning their strategy, objectives, budgets, etc. in order to best serve them 
  • Provide strategic insights from interactions with client base to management and to the content team
  • Manage leads and accounts in Salesforce, documenting all interactions
  • Create and maintain account plan and strategy for each assigned account

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic-level business development and sales environment
  • Comfortable presenting to Senior Executives, CEOs, CMOs & CSOs
  • Proactive, engaged & innovative thought leader
  • Prefer subject matter expert in Sustainability
  • Demonstrated track record of solid sales performance driving revenue growth
  • Results driven & customer centric
  • Position requires excellent written, communication & presentation skills
  • Encourages teamwork
  • Accountable in all actions and displaying unquestionable integrity and trust
  • Ability to communicate openly & encourages feedback
